Maryland's Photographer : Front Line Families Front Porch Photos
With my business pretty much dried up things have been hard. I have been wanting to find a way to give during this time but to stay safely away. I myself have a low immune system and have taken all precautions very seriously.
A few weeks ago I walked through my neighborhood and did some fun front porch family portraits from at least a 20ft distance away. It helped to bring smiles to some faces and give everyone something to look forward to for a minute.
One of my nurse friends saw my project and said that she is scared, she cries before going to work and leaving her children behind and she honors her job and wants to help people. She told me that, both she and her husband are front line workers, and it would mean a lot to have a front porch family photo taken of them.
She wanted to pay me because she knows my income has come to a halt.
Immediately, I knew this was a way I could help and still keep myself safe. I realized that now, more than ever, photographs were going to be so important, especially family photographs.
People can ‘pay it forward’ and donate a “FrontLine Family Front Porch Photo’ (FFFPP) by SarahRachael Photography to anyone in Frederick County that you know who is putting their lives on the line to save us and could use a little something special. You can choose a donation amount based on what you are able to give, this helps keeps my doors open, and you are giving a priceless keepsake for these families. All you have to do is give me the name and (privately) give me the address and I can contact the family to set up a date and time to be out on their porch , in uniform, to get a photo from 20 ft away. They never have to leave their front porch/step/yard and my lens allows a 20 ft distance while still looking like its up close.
I get to take a walk and get some fresh air exercise and spread some joy while I pass by!
Who do you want to pay - it - forward to?
